Get Wedding-Ready with a Personalized Aesthetic Timeline
Weddings are a once-in-a-lifetime event—and you deserve to look and feel your best. Whether you’re the bride, groom, mother of the bride, or part of the wedding party, it’s never too early to start planning your aesthetic journey. At the Texas Center for Facial Plastic and Laser Surgery, we specialize in helping patients look refreshed, confident, and camera-ready for their big day.
Here’s a helpful guide to when and how to schedule your treatments. Remember, everyone’s timeline is different—we’ll create a customized plan for you during your consultation with Dr. Jose Barrera and our expert aesthetic team in San Antonio.

Why Starting Early Matters
Unlike a quick facial or a last-minute beauty treatment, aesthetic medicine takes time. Many procedures involve subtle healing periods, and the best results often develop gradually over weeks—or even months.
Planning ahead ensures that you’re fully healed, your results look natural, and there’s enough time for touch-ups or adjustments if needed. A longer runway gives us the flexibility to create the perfect, stress-free outcome tailored to your vision.
The Timeline
Now’s the time to schedule your first consultation. We’ll sit down to talk about your goals, evaluate your skin, and build a plan that works with your timeline and budget. This may include:
- A new skincare routine tailored to your needs
- Wrinkle relaxers like Botox or Dysport to smooth expression lines
- Early conversations about dermal fillers, if desired
Whether you’re interested in plumper lips, under-eye correction, or subtle jawline contouring, starting dermal fillers early gives us time to perfect your look. We can monitor healing, make any needed adjustments, and ensure everything settles naturally well before your big day.
Chemical peel and laser resurfacing skin-renewing treatments are most effective in a series, spaced about a month apart. Starting at the 4-month mark allows time for:
- 3 rounds of peels
- Improved skin texture, tone, and brightness
- Reduced acne scars and fine lines
Botox lasts about 3-6 months, so this is the perfect time for your second treatment if you started earlier—or your first round if you’re just beginning. At this stage, we can fine-tune your results so everything looks soft, natural, and expressive.
We’ll re-assess your skin and see how your products and treatments are working. If needed, we’ll tweak your skincare or add light treatments like a hydrating facial to boost your glow.
This is the sweet spot for your last Botox appointment. Your results will be fully set by the time your photos are taken—so you’ll look naturally refreshed with no risk of last-minute changes.
You’ve done the prep—now it’s time to shine. We’ll recommend one of our no-downtime treatments, like:
- Hydrafacial for deep hydration and smooth skin
- Dermaplaning to remove peach fuzz and create a flawless makeup canvas
- Diamond Glow for luminous, polished skin
Your skin will be radiant, makeup-ready, and wedding-photo perfect.
Many patients stay with us long after the “I do’s.” We love seeing your wedding photos and hearing about your special day! Whether you want to maintain your results or explore new treatments, we’re here for you year-round.
