In June 2018, the Texas Center for Facial Plastic and Laser Surgery received full accreditation from the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities, Inc. (AAAASF). Dr. Jose Barrera is the only facial plastic surgeon in San Antonio to achieve the highest level of accreditation.
This accreditation demonstrates to patients and prospective patients that Dr. Barrera and his staff are committed to ensuring their complete safety and satisfaction at all times. To be accredited, the facility had to pass a thorough inspection and meet stringent criteria set forth by the AAAASF. There are strict standards in place covering wide-ranging categories including general safety, patient privacy, medical records, staff credentials, facility directors and operating room environment.
The Texas Center for Facial Plastic and Laser Surgery will be re-evaluated each year through a self-survey and visited by an AAAASF team every two years to ensure they are 100 percent compliant with all standards as outlined by the AAAASF. The practice must display their accreditation certificate in public view.
